The Katherine Institute’s Small Group Sessions

Small Group Sessions are designed specifically for homeschool families, new and established tutoring pods, and individual students seeking high-quality, professional academic instruction in a group setting. Each session brings together up to eight students at similar academic levels, allowing for direct teaching and modeling, guided practice, discussion, and immediate feedback in a safe, structured environment. These sessions function as instructional classrooms, not babysitting or study halls, and are ideal for families seeking an effective professional educator, subject-specific support, a rigorous supplement to home education, or structured peer interaction. By keeping groups small, The Katherine Institute ensures each child is challenged appropriately and held to clear standards of mastery.

Students enroll in a specific session time and attend Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 2 hours each day (6 hours total per week). Session selection is made the week prior, allowing families to plan with certainty while enabling instructors to prepare targeted instruction based on the enrolled students. This consistent schedule promotes routine, accountability, and instructional continuity, ensuring students build momentum, form productive peer dynamics, and make measurable academic progress rather than cycling through disconnected drop-in sessions.
